State police resources, including the Special Tactical Operations Team, Crisis Negotiation Unit, Drone Unit, K9 Unit, Bomb Squad, and Springfield Barracks troopers, arrived on the scene around 8:40 p.m. following a request for assistance from local agencies.

The authorities set up a perimeter around the house and blocked Old Carriage Drive for security. Contact was made with the individual inside the house via an open phone line established by the state police crisis negotiation unit.

Two individuals who had escaped onto the roof of the garage connected to the house were rescued before the arrest. The incident continues to be investigated by the Wilbraham Police, Massachusetts State Police, and Hampden County District Attorney’s Office.
