Saddleback Communications Expands Fiber Optic Backbone by 3,000 Miles

Saddleback Communications, a leading provider of fiber-based internet, voice, and cloud services for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, has recently achieved a significant expansion of its core fiber optic backbone by adding over 3,000 new fiber miles.

This growth forms a significant part of the extensive fiber and communication networks available to SPRMIC and its business community. These beneficiaries include finance, healthcare, technology, and various other companies stationed along the Interstate 101 corridor.

Fiber optic internet, which delivers data through a cable filled with thin glass or plastic fibers, offers up to 20 times the speed of regular cable, providing more bandwidth than copper cables of equal size.

By tripling the size of its transport network, Saddleback is gearing up for the implementation of a new Core Backbone Technology (Arista) later this year. This recent expansion also introduces a new node designed for increased capacity and improved reliability and redundancy in communication services.
