The essential facts are that the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission is hosting the event “Winter Solstice Birding” on December 16, 2023, from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Whitmore Lake Preserve. The event will be led by WCPARC naturalist Kelsey Dehring and will involve a stroll through fields and forests to admire winter birds, participants are advised to bring their own binoculars. The event is free but has limited spaces for only 12 birders, hence preregistration at parksonline.ewashtenaw.org is required.
