Important Dates for the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
The 46th installment of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13. The race will kick off with the men’s wheelchair marathon at 7:20 a.m. CT.
Chicago Marathon Full Schedule for Participants and Spectators
Thursday, October 5 – From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo will be open for packet pick-up at McCormick Place, Lakeside Center.
Friday, October 6 – The Abbott Health & Fitness Expo and packet pick-up continue at McCormick Place, Lakeside Center, Hall D from 9 a.m to 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 7 – Start the day with the Abbott Chicago 5K at 7:30 a.m., then head over to the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo and packet pick-up at McCormick Place, Lakeside Center, Hall D from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, October 8 – It’s marathon day! Check out the detailed schedule below:
- 5:30 a.m. – Grant Park opens to runners and gear check begins
- 7:20 a.m. – Men’s Marathon Wheelchair Start
- 7:21 a.m. – Women’s Marathon Wheelchair Start
- 7:23 a.m. – Marathon Handcycle Start
- 7:30 a.m. – Marathon Wave 1 Start
- 8 a.m. – Marathon Wave 2 Start
- 8:35 a.m. – Marathon Wave 3 Start
- 9:30 a.m. – Spectator access to Grant Park and 27th Mile Post-Race Party begins
Starting and Finishing Points of the Marathon
The starting line for the Chicago Marathon is situated in Grant Park at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Monroe Street. The finish line is also located in Grant Park on Columbus Drive, just south of Balbo Drive. Although spectators are not permitted to greet runners at the finish line, you can secure prime viewing spots by lining up early in the Bank of America Cheer Zone.
