A shocking turn of events took place in Brunswick, Maine as a car not only crashed into a well-frequented tennis and fitness center but drove most of the way through it. This event was far from a typical Brunswick car accident.

The Brunswick Police Department reported that the unusual accident occurred at Maine Pines Racquet and Fitness on Harpswell Road, which was filled with patrons enjoying their regular tennis games and fitness activities. According to authorities, the incident took place just before 10 a.m. on a busy Thursday.
The car, a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, smashed through an exterior wall, sped across four busy tennis courts, whipped through the lobby, and finally came to a halt in another room. Witnesses said that people scattered in all directions to evade the out-of-control vehicle in what can only be described as a scene straight out of an action movie.
Injuries and Damages from the Car Crash
The driver, a 72-year-old woman from Gray, Maine, and another person were injured due to the crash. The driver suffered minor injuries, while the second individual was hurt by the flying glass caused by the impact of the crash. Both were promptly taken to Mid Coast Hospital.
The Jeep Cherokee was written off as a complete loss, making this a costly incident beyond just the damage to the Brunswick fitness center. Due to the extensive damage, the building is temporarily closed, disappointing regular patrons.
