2024 Class Marshals at Dartmouth: A Snapshot
Every year, Dartmouth students elect their class marshals, recognizing their positive impact, enthusiasm, integrity, and good citizenship. These marshals lead the Commencement procession holding engraved batons. The 2024 marshals share the highlights of their time at Dartmouth and beloved campus locations.
2024 Student Marshals
The first marshal, Jason Acosta Espinosa ’24 from Boston, majored in History and Government. Acosta Espinosa focused on leadership, compassion, and curiosity at Dartmouth, collaborating with the Latine and Caribbean Council and researching various political topics. His favorite campus spot is The Green, a central hub of Dartmouth life.
Kami Arabian ’24 from Los Angeles and a Government major, served as senior class president and interned for the State Department and on Capitol Hill. His favorite place on campus is the Rockefeller Center Atrium, a place of constant learning and lively debate.
Jessica Chiriboga ’24 from Glendora, Calif., a History major with a minor in Government, served as undergraduate student body president. She is grateful for the Connecticut River because it has been a source of inspiration for her environmental history research and a place for relaxation and fun.
From Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, Shandukurai Chiuswa ’24 double majored in Economics and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. As co-chair of the Sadie Alexander Association, she promoted equity in the study of economics. Chiuswa’s favorite place on campus is the Baker-Berry Library, a perfect blend of buzz and tranquility.
David J. Edington ’23, Thayer ’24 from Portland, Ore., earned degrees in Engineering Sciences and Mechanical Engineering. His most cherished memories are from the Friends of Dartmouth Rowing Boathouse and the Connecticut River where he spent his mornings rowing with his closest friends.
Matthew Eybs, Thayer ’24, from Saint James, N.Y., pursued his passion for advancing health care solutions through technology at Dartmouth. His favorite campus getaway is Ledyard Canoe Club, offering a perfect escape from classes.
Oreoluwasubomi Gbotosho, Thayer ’24 from Osun, Nigeria, completed a Master of Engineering Management and enjoyed working on a project in the Thayer Machine Shop, his favorite campus spot.
Ansh Gupta, Guarini ’24 from Ahmedabad, India, completed a Master of Science in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences. His favorite campus spot is One Wheelock in the Collis Center because of its lively vibe.
Julia Huddy, Thayer ’24 from Newtown, Pa., completed a PhD in Engineering Sciences. Her favorite spot on campus is the Sorbaro Terrace, a quiet place with plenty of sunshine.
Caroline Kramer ’24 from Los Altos Hills, Calif., majored in Government and worked as a photo editor for The Dartmouth. Her favorite campus spot is the photo desk of The Dartmouth.
Denva Nesbeth Jr. ’24 from Brooklyn, N.Y., majored in Mathematical Data Science and released an instrumental album series inspired by Dartmouth Libraries. His favorite campus locations are the Shabazz Center and the OPAL Suite in Collis.
Edmund Ong, Tuck ’24 from Singapore, completed his MBA at Dartmouth. Stell Hall, a vibrant epicenter of Tuck, is his favorite spot on campus.
Kiara T. Ortiz Segura ’24 from Bronx, N.Y., majored in Neuroscience with a minor in public policy. Her favorite spot on campus is Collis, a diverse, welcoming space to engage with her communities.
Samantha Palermo ’24 from Lincoln, Neb., double majored in Neuroscience and Religion. Her favorite place on campus is the Dartmouth Climbing Gym.
Chloe Park ’24 from Belmont, Mass., double majored in Biology and Spanish. Her favorite place on campus is Occom Pond, an integral part of the Class of 2024’s freshman year.
Abhishek Saxena, MPH ’24 from Bridgewater, N.J., completed a Master of Public Health. His favorite place around campus is Tacos Y Tequila, a welcoming space for unwinding with friends over lunch.
Rebecca A. Valls, Guarini ’24 from Miami, Fla., completed a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology. Her favorite place on campus is the Girl Brook Circuit Trail, a place that brings peace, perspective, and cute dogs.
James Washington Jr., Guarini ’24 from Hanover, N.H., completed a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, Creative Writing. His favorite place on campus is Sanborn Library, a cozy spot filled with old books.
