Deer Park Crash: 4 Killed, 9 Injured in Nail Salon Car Accident

Tragic Minivan Crash at Long Island Nail Salon

A horrific accident occurred in Deer Park, Long Island when a minivan plowed through the Hawaii Nail and Spa salon. The crash resulted in four fatalities, with nine more injured. The salon located at 796 Grand Blvd, was busy around 4:30 p.m. when the incident happened.

The local community is reeling from the tragedy, as expressed by Assistant Chief Albanese of Deer Park Fire Department. Inside the salon, pedicure chairs were left mangled amidst the significant damage caused by the crash.

People present inside the salon were trapped and had to be extricated and transported to nearby hospitals. The driver of the minivan was partially conscious when taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to eyewitness Danielle Tanis, the man driving the minivan tried to overtake another car before crashing into the salon. Police were on scene speaking to potential witnesses.

The owners of the salon, a married couple, are much loved by the community, according to one customer, Teresa Specht. The four fatalities were all present inside the salon at the time of the crash.

The victims’ identities remain undisclosed and the cause of the driver losing control is yet to be determined.
