MARQUETTE, Mich. – The annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) is set to make a chilly return this winter. The event, known as a fun and frosty fundraising effort, will see participants once again ‘freezing for a reason’.
Carla White, the coordinator of the plunges in Alger and Marquette counties, alongside Lawson Brody, an athlete from SOMI Area 36, shared details about the event. This year’s plunge will take place on Saturday, February 10 at the East Channel Brewing Company in Munising. A second plunge is scheduled for Saturday, March 16 at the UP North Lodge in Gwinn.
