During the game’s second quarter when Michigan and Alabama were tied at 7-7, FOX 17 visited the Garage Bar. The majority of viewers were enthusiastically supporting the Wolverines. Michigan fan Javier Ruiz expressed his loyalty, “We’re rooting for the University of Michigan because we’re number one!”
Michigan supporter, Justin Eyk, predicted a close game but believed Michigan would win by a margin of three points.
Despite being vastly outnumbered by Michigan fans, Alabama fan Pat Malone, was also present. Malone, a 2017 graduate of the college, admitted he was accustomed to being outnumbered, but relished the challenge. He predicted that Alabama would eventually triumph in a close game, stating, “I’ve seen the tide pull through in big moments. I’m not worried.”
This face-off marked the sixth time that Alabama and Michigan have met on the football field and the first time the Wolverines have played in the Rose Bowl since 2005.
