Wake County Animal Center Offers Low-Cost Pet Wellness Services
Wake County Animal Center in Zebulon held an event on Sunday offering affordable pet wellness services. The center’s Community Pet Day brought in numerous residents in search of low-cost pet vaccinations.
“Keeping costs down is important for us,” expressed Meagan Frost, the Animal Center Community Outreach Manager. “As living costs continually rise, our goal is to assist pet owners in keeping their pets healthy.”
Due to lack of shelter space, the shelter had previously paused animal surrenders and maintained a waiting list. They believe these community events aid in making pet ownership more affordable.
“Seeing high participation in these events is always a pleasure,” stated April Ward, Veterinarian at the center. “The more pets we can vaccinate, the less likely they are to contract diseases.”
Despite the high demand, Ward affirmed the team’s satisfaction in being able to offer assistance. The center also announced three more events for free pet vaccinations and microchipping in 2024:
- Mar. 24: Wake County Northern Regional Center, Wake Forest
- April 7: Dorcas Ministries, 187 High House Road, Cary
- April 21: Wake County Southern Regional Center, 130 North Judd Parkway, Fuquay-Varina
