Construction projects at the Northfield Township Public Safety Building are approaching completion, with repairs to sidewalks, parking lots, and installation of an electronic message board already finished. The renovation project is being done in 4 phases, with the repaving of certain parking areas and the Fire Bay entry set to begin shortly. HVAC system repairs are also underway, with new control units installed, condensers cleaned and the remaining parts expected to be finished within a few weeks.


Northfield Township Public Safety Building Update: July 1, 2024

Construction projects at the Northfield Township Public Safety Building are fast approaching completion. The township has installed an electronic message board to enhance communication with residents and visitors. This new sign is placed in a highly visible area and can display multiple messages.

Repairs to the sidewalks and parking lots are simultaneously underway. This project, divided into 4 phases, is set to finish by the end of July. Deteriorating sidewalk sections and other concrete areas have been replaced. Asphalt replacement for the parking areas in front and at the back of the building has also been done.

Phase 3 will soon kickstart, involving repaving of the far rear parking area. This will be followed by Phase 4, which will focus on the repaving the Fire Bay entry on the south side of the building. Striping of the parking lots will be conducted post the completion of Phase 3.

In addition to this, repairs to the HVAC system of the Public Safety Building are in progress. New control units have been installed, condensers and other areas have been cleaned, and the remaining parts are expected soon. The township aims to provide a comfortable working environment for staff and first responders by maintaining even temperature across the building. The HVAC repair project is set for completion in the coming weeks.
