A surveillance video obtained by WSOC-TV in Charlotte showed three women stashing bats in their skirts at the Huntersville D-BAT store. The stolen goods usually lack serial numbers, making them easy to resell online.

The Asheville police have contacted agencies in the other affected municipalities regarding the arrests. All three women were booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility on June 23 with an initial bond amount of $5,000. They have since bonded out.
