US News & World Report has announced the Best Children’s Hospitals for 2024–2025. This annual ranking aims to assist parents and caregivers in making informed healthcare decisions for kids. Ben Harder, US News’s health analysis chief, highlighted its value as an essential resource for those seeking specialized pediatric care.
10 hospitals made the honor roll this year, signifying high rankings across the board. These are:
- Boston Children’s Hospital
- Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
- Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
- Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC
- Cincinnati Children’s
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio
- Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California
- Seattle Children’s Hospital
- Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston
First introduced in 2007, the list also featured the best hospitals for behavioral health for the first time. US News identified 55 top providers without ordinal rankings, intending to initiate rankings from next year.
One in five US children suffers from a mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorder, making the inclusion of behavioral health significant. This addition responds to the growing youth mental health crisis in America, providing vital data to families.

US News collaborated with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research, and consulting firm, for this year’s rankings. Data from 108 children’s hospitals and surveys from over 36,000 physicians were reviewed. Top-ranking hospitals demonstrated outstanding clinical outcomes, adherence to best practices, and quality resources related to patient care.
Besides the Best Children’s Hospitals, US News also publishes the best hospitals list and a new list of the most equitable hospitals.
