The study by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Livability Index 2024 ranked Pittsburgh as the third-best city to reside in the US, per a report by CNBC.
Honolulu Tops National List in EIU’s Global Livability Index
The top spot in the national rankings was taken by Honolulu. The EIU report assessed a range of factors to produce its rankings. These factors included stability, health care, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure. The report also explored the livability of international cities.

Each city had the potential to achieve a maximum of 100 points in the study, but the exact score of Pittsburgh remains unknown. According to CNBC, despite Honolulu’s top national ranking, Vienna, Austria, earned the title of the world’s best place to live.
