Mesa International Film Festival Returns For Fourth Year
The annual Mesa International Film Festival is back in downtown Mesa from October 26-29, showcasing over 150 global film screenings and hosting special guest speakers. Notably, Oscar winner and Mesa native, Troy Kotsur, will be returning to present a special screening of his film, To My Father.
Festival Highlights and Events
The festival will kick-off on October 26 with a VIP party at the Mesa Delta Hotel welcoming invited guests. The weekend will continue with films from around the world screened at ASU’s MIX Center and networking events for filmmakers.
On October 27, there will be a screening of Barbie, with a post-screening discussion led by the film’s second editor and Arizona State alumni, Nick Ramirez. A unique outdoor screening of Monsters Inc. in partnership with Mesa Parks will also occur at the Mesa City Center on October 28. Attendees are urged to bring blankets and arrive early for the show.
Networking Opportunities and Awards Brunch
Various networking events for filmmakers will be organised throughout the weekend at local businesses, including Chupacabra Taproom, 12 West, Organic Bean Company and Jarrod’s Coffee, Tea and Gallery. The festival will wrap up with an awards brunch on October 29.
Festival President Nancy Hormann expressed excitement towards welcoming global filmmakers and movie enthusiasts to the event, inviting residents to join and enjoy the festivities.
